FINANCIALS: Copies of the March Financials will be available at the Connect Center on Sunday.
FMBC members have been faithfully donating food items to the Backpack Buddies program at Goodridge Elementary School. This program, of course, sends home food items on Fridays, with 30+ students who have been identified to be in nutritionally needy situations at home. The program currently is in need of fruit items (cans or individual servings), as well as breakfast items (ex. breakfast bars or oatmeal packages). Thanking you for your help in the past and in the future.
Backpack Buddies is a program that sends home donated packaged food items every weekend with those students.
The food items are bagged by adults and special education students. No names are used, but the bags identified only with numbers, are then distributed to the homeroom teachers of the qualifying students. The bags are later placed in the appropriate backpacks to go home.
The success of Backpack Buddies depends on the weekly donations of packaged food items for this program. You may drop items off at the church office beginning this week.
Breakfast Items include – Boxes of cereal or Breakfast bars.
Lunch Items include – Canned meat such as tuna, Mac and Cheese or a jar of Peanut Butter.
Snacks – Granola Bars, individual bagged pretzels, crackers or raisins.
Fruits and Vegetables – Canned green beans, corn or carrots and cans of fruit or fruit cups.
